3rd Multilateral Forum of Animation Coproduction

AEPA (Spanish Association of Animation Producers), with sponsorship from ANIMACOR (Association for the Development of the Animation Industry) and the County Council of Cordoba, and in partnership with the County Board of Economic Development, is again this year organizing this meeting point for professionals in European animation. After being well received at the four previous meetings, the 3rd Multilateral Forum of Animation Co-production in Córdoba will be held this year as part of the International Animation Festival ANIMACOR‘08. The collaboration between AEPA and ANIMACOR began in 2004 with the Portuguese- Spanish Co-production Meeting held as part of the Animacor’04 International Animation Screenings, and one year later at the Spanish-German Co-production meeting held during the first year of the Animacor’05 International Animation Festival. In 2006, it was decided to bring together professionals from the five most representative European countries in the animation industry, thus bringing about the First Multilateral Forum for Co-production held during the second Animacor’06 Festival. This joining of the market and festival has continued ever since, on November 6th of 2008, where the two entities will hold the 3rd Multilateral Forum of Animation Co-production as part of the International Animation Festival Animacor‘08. The countries invited to this 3rd Multilateral Forum Animation Co-production are France, Italy, Germany, Great Britain and Spain. The meeting is designed for producers and broadcasters from the five countries, for which reason it will be done entirely in English. The selection criteria for all the producers has been the viability of their project –both for film and for TV– and the possibility of offering co-production to one of the other countries taking part in the Forum. The producers will also have the opportunity to present their projects to the invited television networks. The goal of this initiative is, as it has been in past occasions, to create a marketplace in conjunction with the Festival, thus solidifying year after year the International Festival of Animation ANIMACOR as an essential meeting place for European animation. AEPA and ANIMACOR are pleased to offer a marketplace in Spain and welcome all the professionals that have deemed it appropriate to present their work as part of this framework, and in this lovely city of Córdoba, which showcases the latest and most innovative international animation every year. In the name of the sector I represent, I would like to thank those who make this initiative possible every year, especially the County Offices of Córdoba and the County Consortium of Economic Development, in addition to all the participants deciding to join us every year to present their work.
