The French film Dragon Hungers wins the Award for Best Full-length film at Animacor’08 (11/11/2008)

At the closing ceremony of Animacor’08 held the last Friday in the Coliseo Theatre of Palma del Río, this year’s awards for the Competitive Section were announced. The International Jury of Animacor’08, made up of David Silverman, Pablo Llorens, Manuel Meijide Ferreiro and Luca Raffaelli, granted the following awards: Award for Best Full-length Film to the French film Dragon Hunters by Guillaume Ivernel and Arthur Qwak; First Prize in the Short Film Category to Skhizein by the French director Jérémy Clapin; Second Prize for Best Short Film to the film Monsieur COK by Franck Dion; Third Prize for Best Short Film to the Spanish film The Werepig by Samuel Ortí and the Award for Best TV Series to the Mexican Imaginantes by Maribel Martínez Galindo. In addition, a Special Mention for Best Short Film was given to Malenkaya Vasilisa by the Russian Darina Shmidt and another Special Jury Mention to the Spanish feature film El lince perdido by Manuel Sicilia and Raúl García for its contribution to the continuing development of Spanish animation.

The RTVA Award for Andalusian Audiovisual Creation has been given to the short film Inside a Boy, directed by Rafael Toro from Córdoba. In addition, the Jury represented by Pilar Ortega has granted a Special Mention for Andalusian Audiovisual Creation to the Spanish film El Príncipe de las basuras by Francisco Antonio Peinado Gaitán.

Also, the Children’s Jury gave the Special Award of the Children’s Jury to the Best Television Series to the French Hairy Scary: Two Beautiful Minds by Wolf- Ruediger Bloss and Jan Van Rijsselberge.
