3rd Countywide Animation Series

The word “animation” comes from the Latin of lexema anima, which means soul. For this reason, to act of animating might be translated almost literally as “giving soul” to all those things that do not have it. Certainly, when you look at the different films in this year’s 3rd Countywide Animation Tour Animacor ‘08, you will recognize this act in the work being featured: El Retrato Oval, Madame Tutli-Putli, Zacarías Zombie, Passo, El Cubo Mágico, La Gran Aventura de Billy & Mandy con el coco, Ben 10: El Secreto del Omnitrix, Zacarías Zombie, Tadeo Jones y el Sótano Maldito, El Ataque de los Kriters asesinos, Isabelle au Bois Dormant y La Siesta, all of which have been given soul. So that everyone in the county can enjoy this activity, organized in partnership with the Delegate Offices of Culture of Córdoba County, the Delegate Offices of Culture of the Andalusian Regional Government and the different national and international production companies, these films will be screened in our towns starting in October. In an effort to strengthen the Festival’s position as part of the cultural scene, we have decided to make improvements to this activity’s design and structure so that all the inhabitants of the county can participate, and as a new feature this year, the Animation Tour will be extended all the way through to next year so as to include all the towns that have requested for it to come. Animation has become one of the most important instruments for breaking down barriers, a mode of communication between cultures that takes on its true importance the more widespread it becomes. From this perspective, the 4th International Animation Festival is a new opportunity to raise awareness of the important role our county and Offices are undertaking in its support for making Córdoba the cultural capital in 2016. And so, I encourage you to get animated as you participate in what will undoubtedly be an enjoyable and unforgettable cultural event, one that will convince you to repeat it year after year.
