Sinopsis:
An eternal portrait. A man who sells his soul. A faceless spirit. But the soul and the face are only symbols of human identity. A short of animated paint.
Brackground:
María Lorenzo was born in Alicante in 1977. She earned her degree in Beaux-Arts from the Universidad Politécnica de Valencia (UPV) in the year 2000. There she was introduced to the world of animation, putting together her first shorts in collaboration with other classmates (Sideral, 1998; 20.000 viñetas submarinas, 1999). Her first individual work was La pantera de Rilke (2000).
In 2001 she began to work as a scolarship holding researcher in the Educational Animation Unit of the UPV, to complete a doctoral thesis on cartoons. She obtained a Diploma of Advanced Studies in 2003. The following year she finished her first professional short, Retrato de D., which was selected in several reputed national and international festivals. In 2005 she integrated herself as professor in animation at the Universidad Politécnica de Valencia. At the prestigious International Festival of Animation in Annecy 2005 she participated as a selector for the official section, and is a juror for the project competitions of MIFA.
